In Loving Memory

Don William Staeden
March 24, 1950 — October 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Don William Staeden, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Don was born on March 24, 1950, in Roswell, New Mexico, and peacefully departed this life on October 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Don was the cherished son of Charles and Sarah Staeden, both of whom predeceased him, as did his dear sister, Priscilla Clark. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness through his devoted wife, Sheryl Staeden, and his two beloved daughters, Kadee Talbot and Amanda Richards. Don's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his grandchildren, Steven and Liliana Talbot, who were a constant source of joy and pride for him.
In his early years, Don proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, dedicating four years of his life to protect and serve. Upon returning home, he embarked on a career as an HVAC technician and electrician, where his dedication and work ethic were admired by colleagues and clients alike.
Don's life was enriched by his many hobbies and interests. He found peace in the quiet moments spent fishing and joy in the melodies he played on his piano. A man who found beauty in growth and nurturance, his garden was a testament to his careful and loving nature. In his leisure, he delighted in the challenge of a good jigsaw puzzle.
Known for his warm heart and generous spirit, Don was a loving father, husband, brother, son, and grandfather. He was an inspiration to his daughters and grandchildren, always willing to extend a helping hand to those in need. His kindness and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Don was first married to Roberta Arce for 19 years, with whom he had his two treasured daughters. On August 6, 2002, he found love again with Sheryl, and together they built a life filled with love and shared dreams.
A memorial service to honor Don's life will be held on November 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Monte Vista Cemetery, located at 1590 E First Street, Alamogordo, New Mexico. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the hospice nurses who provided amazing care and support during Don's last days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Don's memory to a cancer research organization of your choice, as a tribute to his brave fight and unwavering spirit.
Don William Staeden will be remembered for his enduring love, strength of character, and the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love him.
