Don Lucky Myers
February 13, 1945 — October 28, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Don Lucky Myers, who left this world peacefully in his sleep on October 28, 2026, at the Songbird Nursing Home. Born on February 13, 1945, in Memphis, Texas, Don was a man whose spirit was as vast as the Texas sky and whose love for his family was as enduring as the Lone Star State itself.
Don was the beloved son of EJ and Bobbye Myers, who predeceased him along with his nephew, David Blake. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Sandra, with whom he shared a beautiful life in Lamesa, Texas. Their union, which began on September 16, 1968, in Loop, Texas, was blessed with four children: Don Lucky Jr. and his wife Shawna, Casey Don and his wife Jennifer, Stacey Witte and her husband Robert, and Jody Davis and her husband Michael. Don was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren: Lacey Myers, Don III, Kelsei Richards, Makenzie Myers, Brittaney Scott, Eric Myers, Kaleb Myers, Keatyn Myers, Trevor Davis, and Cheyenne Davis. His legacy continues through his nine great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his spirit and love. Sister Linda Blake, spouse Larry. Numerous nieces and nephews.
A graduate of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Don pursued his passion in the welding trade school in Dallas, Texas, and later founded D&S Welding. His dedication to his craft was matched only by his commitment to his family. He was a man of integrity, known for his kindness, honesty, and the caring nature he exhibited in all facets of his life. Don’s love for his family was evident in the countless weekends spent at the lake, where he delighted in teaching his children and grandchildren the joys of fishing, skiing, and tubing.
A devoted Christian, Don worshiped God daily, finding solace and strength in his faith and family. His gentle spirit and unwavering kindness have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Songbird Nursing home, West Texas Hospice and Enhabit Home Health for the compassionate care and love provided to Don during his illness. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Don's memory may make donations to a charity of their choice.
A private funeral service will be held to celebrate Don's life, allowing family and close friends to gather and reflect on the cherished memories they shared with him. As we say goodbye to a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, we remember a man who lived with a heart full of love and a life full of purpose. Don Lucky Myers will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Don Lucky Myers welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
