Don was a beacon of kindness and strength to all who knew him, and his loss is felt deeply by his family, friends, and community. Born on February 6, 1974, in Oakland, California, Don was the cherished son of Anne Marie and Jerome Buggs. From a young age, Don displayed a remarkable zest for life, coupled with an innate ability to bring joy to those around him. Growing up in Oakland, he absorbed the vibrant culture and community, which shaped his generous spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others. Don was predeceased by his loving parents, Anne Marie and Jerome Buggs, as well as his cherished grandparents. Their legacy of love and resilience lived on through Don’s actions and the warmth he exuded to everyone he encountered. In his personal life, Don was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of five years, who stood by his side through all of life's triumphs and trials. Together, they created a loving home filled with laughter and affection. Don's unwavering dedication to his family was evident in the pride he took in his seven children, each of whom he loved unconditionally. He was a guiding light and a source of strength and inspiration, imparting wisdom and love that will continue to guide them throughout their lives. His legacy is further carried on by his five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will grow up hearing stories of their remarkable grandfather. Family was the cornerstone of Don's life, and his bond with his five siblings was a testament to his nurturing spirit and deep sense of loyalty. Together, they shared countless memories filled with laughter and love, supporting one another through all of life's challenges. A man of immense character and integrity, Don's presence was felt far beyond the confines of his family. His friends and community members remember him as a compassionate soul with an infectious smile and a heart full of generosity. Whether offering a helping hand or a listening ear, Don made a difference in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Don's life will take place on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the New Beginnings Fellowship. All who knew and loved Don are invited to gather to honor his memory and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Don's name, continuing his legacy of giving and kindness. Though Don may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.
