Don Anderson

July 13, 1965 — March 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Don Anderson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on July 13, 1965, in the close-knit community of Fairfield, Texas, Don peacefully departed this world on March 11, 2026, in the comfort of his home, embraced by tranquility and love. Don was the beloved son of Jim and Tara Anderson, who nurtured him with unwavering support and kindness. Although predeceased by his grandparents, Claude James and Winnie Marie Anderson, their legacy of love and resilience continued to guide him throughout his journey. A proud graduate of Fairfield High School in 1983, Don furthered his education at Sam Houston State University, where he graduated in 1994. His dedication to public service was evident early on, as he embarked on a commendable career as a peace officer. For over three decades, from 1985 to 2016, Don served his community with integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to justice. His colleagues admired him for his steadfastness, and the community is forever grateful for his service. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Don was a man of diverse passions. An avid hunter, he found joy in the serenity of nature and the thrill of the chase. He also took immense pride in the family business of cattle farming, a tradition that allowed him to remain deeply connected to his roots and the land he cherished. In 1987, Don married Lisa Compton, a union that taught him the importance of love and partnership. In 2000, he found love again with Tina Steen, his devoted wife of 26 years. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and shared dreams. Tina, along with their two children, Matthew Anderson and Jessica Long, and his two beloved grandchildren, will continue to carry his memory forward, embodying the values he held dear. A celebration of Don's life will be held on May 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Teague, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance, sharing stories and memories of a life well-lived. In this time of sorrow, the Anderson family finds solace in the overwhelming love that surrounds them and invites all who knew Don to join them in commemorating a man who exemplified kindness, humility, and devotion. His legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Don Anderson. Your journey may have ended, but your spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
