It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Dolores Tomaszewski, who departed from this world on May 12, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on September 10, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Dolores graced the world with her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family and community. She faced her final days with the same courage and grace that she displayed throughout her life, after a brave battle with dementia. Dolores was the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Francis Zatawski. She grew up in a household filled with love and laughter alongside her siblings, Mike, Lilian, and Joyce, all of whom she now joins in peaceful rest. She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Lawrence, with whom she shared a life of love, adventure, and devotion. A proud and nurturing matriarch, Dolores leaves behind two devoted daughters, Susan (Mark) and Laura (Gary), who carry forward her legacy of kindness and resilience. Her spirit will continue to soar through the lives of her grandchildren, Kristin, Sandi, Becca, Branden, Daniel, and Mara, and her eight great-grandchildren, who each held a special place in her heart. Dolores found joy and purpose in her work, first at Bell Telephone and later at JCPenney’s, where she dedicated over 30 years of her life. Her colleagues remember her as a beacon of positivity, whose work ethic and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Her ability to balance career and family was a testament to her strength and dedication. In addition to her professional endeavors, Dolores was a woman of deep compassion and community spirit. Her family kindly requests that those who wish to honor her memory consider making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association, an organization close to Dolores's heart, in hopes of bringing comfort and support to others affected by this disease. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the remarkable staff at New Haven Court at Clearview for their unwavering kindness and compassionate care during Dolores's final years. Their support provided immense comfort to Dolores and her family, for which they are eternally thankful. Dolores's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and resilience. Her legacy is one of strength, generosity, and an unyielding commitment to those she loved. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we say goodbye, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and find solace in the knowledge that her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. A service to celebrate Dolores's life will be held at a later date. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in remembering the remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her grace and warmth. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
