Born on July 6, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, Dolores graced this world with her spirited presence for 96 remarkable years. Her departure was as peaceful as her heart, taking her last breath in the warmth and comfort of her home, surrounded by the memories and love she cherished. Dolores was the cherished daughter of Benard and Mary Blake, whose loving guidance shaped her into the incredible woman she became. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John Mayher, and her beloved son, Tom Mayher. Their memories linger in our hearts, and we take solace in the thought of their joyous reunion. A devoted mother, Dolores is survived by her children: Joan, Tim, Jack, Jerry, and Dennis. Her family was her world, and she took immense pride in watching them grow and flourish. Her legacy is further carried by her 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who will always remember her as the lively matriarch who filled their lives with laughter and wisdom. Dolores and John shared a remarkable life together, their union a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised six children, nurturing them with love, laughter, and a sense of adventure. Their home was always filled with warmth, humor, and a welcoming spirit that embraced all who entered. An avid traveler and golf enthusiast, Dolores embraced life with a sassy attitude and a generous, warm heart. Her zest for life was contagious, and she never missed an opportunity to enjoy lunch with family and friends, accompanied by a good cocktail and hearty laughter. Known for her quick wit and infectious humor, if you had the pleasure of meeting her, you loved her. Dolores was a woman of deep compassion and intellect, her heart as expansive as her curiosity. Passionate about education and the healing process, she made the selfless decision to donate her body to science, continuing to contribute to the world even in her passing. In accordance with her wishes, a memorial will be held to celebrate Dolores’s long and joyous life. She desired not sorrow but a gathering filled with love, laughter, and the sharing of cherished memories among those she held dear. Dolores Mayher leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light for her family and friends.
