It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dolores Maria Soto-Garza Hardnett, who peacefully left this world on August 28, 2026. Born on September 21, 1957, in the vibrant town of Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico, Dolores was a beacon of light and love to all who knew her. Dolores was the beloved wife of Clyde Hardnett, with whom she shared a life full of love, laughter, and enduring companionship in Lafayette, Alabama. Together, they nurtured a family rooted in love and strength, blessed with the joy of their children: Scott Soto-Garza Hardnett, Sharon Soto-Garza Finney (Craig), Rosa Soto-Garza Hardnett (Chris Edwards), and Isabel Soto-Garza Hardnett. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: ShaBrittney Whitlow, Pierre Hardnett, Precious Hardnett, Obsession Hardnett, Laspecial Hardnett, and Miata Finney. Dolores's love extended to her fifteen brothers, eleven sisters, and a multitude of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members, whose lives she touched deeply. Dolores was preceded in death by her loving parents, Leonor Soto and Manuel Garza, as well as her dear son, Antonio Soto-Garza, and daughter, Teresa Soto-Garza. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. A private wake will be held in her honor from August 29 to August 31, 2026. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM CST at St. Jerome Catholic Church in her beloved birthplace of Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico. Following the service, Dolores will be laid to rest at Cementerio Municipal de Aldama. The family kindly requests that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
