In Loving Memory

Dolores M. Lanek
January 1, 1954 — October 20, 2026
In loving memory of Dolores M. Lanek, who peacefully departed this world on October 20, 2026, surrounded by the comforting presence of her dear friend, Gary. Born on January 1, 1954, in Rochester, NY, Dolores was a cherished daughter of Joseph and Helen Lanek, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her beloved sisters Elaine Guillod and Janice Pavia.
Dolores was a remarkable woman, whose life was an inspiring testament to resilience and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by her treasured daughter, Chelsea Hale, and son-in-law Nick Hale, who brought her immense joy with her two grandchildren, Luke and Maple. Her sisters, Virginia Hilbert and Marie Lanek, along with her brother Joseph and his wife Gail, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Dolores also shared a special bond with Gary Caecinsas, her devoted companion, and a beloved friendship with Gwen Dillon, along with many friends she made during her years at Washington Towers.
A woman of deep faith and humor, Dolores found solace and strength in her unwavering belief in Jesus, who she felt walked beside her throughout life's trials and triumphs. Her education, which included some college with a particular excellence in writing, laid the foundation for a diverse career. She found fulfillment in her clerical work across various sectors, including car dealerships, Monroe ambulance, and healthcare.
Dolores had a zest for life, always quick with a joke and a smile, and she treasured the simple pleasures that nature provided—things that no amount of money could buy. Her stubborn yet forgiving nature made her a steadfast friend and confidante to those she held dear.
A private funeral service will be held to honor Dolores's life, reflecting the intimate and personal connections she cherished. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, based in Fairport, NY. This gesture echoes Dolores's love for all creatures and her enduring appreciation for the beauty of life.
Dolores M. Lanek's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her story is one of enduring faith, boundless humor, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone she met. May she rest in eternal peace.
