Dixon Tim Parry

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Dixon Tim Parry, a beloved brother, and friend, who left this world on May 24, 2026, just shy of his 74th birthday. Born on May 30, 1952, in Cedar City, Utah, Tim was a beacon of warmth and kindness whose life was tragically cut short due to a fire at his mobile home, where he had resided for over three decades. Tim was the cherished son of Dixon Parry and Marjorie Miller Parry Dubois, both of whom predeceased him, as did his brother, John Stephen Parry. Survived by his loving brothers, Kent Miller Parry and Stanley Warren Parry, he also leaves behind close friends Howard Pickering, Bonnie Mitchell, Fred, Bob, and Mike Roland Williams, who were an integral part of his extended family. A proud graduate of Cedar High School, Tim furthered his education at Southern State State College. His career was as varied as it was impactful. Tim was a pioneer in ham radios and a skilled technician in radio communications. He later transitioned into the grocery industry, where he excelled as a store manager. His passion for Southern Utah's history was evident as he warmly greeted visitors and shared his knowledge with pride. Tim's life was marked by service and community involvement. A joyful volunteer at the Cedar City Presbyterian Congregation, he also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His dedication to helping others extended to his mobile home neighborhood and to the wider community, where he often reached out to help those in need. His love for the outdoors, along with his impressive collection of firearms, were testament to his adventurous spirit. A lifelong seeker of knowledge, Tim was always ready with a fascinating historical or scientific fact, bringing light and laughter to those around him. Tim's kindness was unmatched. Known for his infectious smile and genuine greetings, he touched the lives of everyone he met. A firm believer in the sanctity of life, Tim often attended funerals to honor those who had passed, underscoring his belief that every life deserved reverent dedication. His family extends their deepest gratitude to the Cedar City Police and Fire Departments for their service during this difficult time. While Tim did not have children, his legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be remembered for his compassion, his unwavering support for others, and his zest for life. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the warmth of his memory, forever grateful for the time we shared with such a remarkable soul. May he rest in peace, knowing he made the world a better place.
