It is with profound sadness and gentle fondness that we announce the passing of Diondre Mandell Carter, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend. Diondre left this world on March 29, 2026, at the age of 34, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love, kindness, and wisdom.
Born on January 30, 1992, in the vibrant city of Pittsburgh, PA, Diondre was the cherished son of George Carter and the late Katherine Tolliver. From a young age, Diondre exhibited a deep curiosity and a passion for learning, leading him to become an avid admirer of history, a fervent lover of music, and a creative cook, always eager to try new recipes and flavors that danced outside the box.
A proud graduate of Folsom McKeesport High School, Class of 2010, Diondre was known for his calm demeanor amid life's chaos, a quality that endeared him to many. His tranquil presence and gentle spirit transformed the lives of those around him, bringing peace and comfort to anyone who had the privilege of crossing his path. Diondre was also recognized by his signature style, often seen sporting his favorite hats and chains, which reflected his unique personality and zest for life.
Diondre's life was marked by his unwavering love for his family. He is survived by his devoted father George Carter and his cherished grandmother Elaine Younger. His legacy lives on through his beloved children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Isaiah, Athena, and Aaliyah Carter, who were the light of his life and his proudest achievements. Diondre's love for his family was immeasurable, and he worked tirelessly to ensure their happiness and well-being.
He was a brother to many, and his surviving sisters, Tanya Eugene, Tonya Fleming, Marcy Fleming, Mychelle McCorkle, and TC Carter, will forever hold him close in their hearts. Diondre was predeceased by his loving mother, Katherine Tolliver, and his sisters Jasmine Carter and Betty Fleming, with whom he is now reunited.
A celebration of Diondre's life will be held on April 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Szal's Funeral Home. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Diondre are invited to come together to honor, remember, and celebrate the incredible man he was.
Though Diondre's time with us was far too short, his impact was immeasurable. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and love that will endure in the hearts and memories of all who knew him. As we bid farewell to Diondre, we take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in the stories we share and the love we carry forward.
