Born on November 21, 1956, in the warm and welcoming community of Galveston, Texas, Dillard was a cherished son to the late Truman and Joann Albright. His journey through life was one of kindness, laughter, and an enduring love for his family and friends. Dillard's early years in Galveston set the stage for a life filled with adventure and simple joys. He spent many years as a devoted truck driver, exploring the vast roads of America and creating countless memories along the way. His dedication to his work was mirrored by his passion for his hobbies, which included his love for fishing and collecting odd things—a testament to his keen eye for the unique and the extraordinary. Known for his infectious laughter, Dillard's sense of humor was a gift to all who knew him. He delighted in the jokes shared by his children, and his laughter was a melody that could brighten even the darkest of days. His warmth and joy were unmatched, and he carried these traits with him throughout his life. Dillard's legacy is lovingly carried on by his beloved family. He is survived by his four children: T.J. and Jessica Albright, Ronni and Greg Vanhorn, Aaron Albright, and Felicia Keys. He was a cherished brother to David and Mary Albright, Robbie and Richard Kendall, and Jackie Hogan, and a stepbrother to David Emery. Dillard's love extended to his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will forever hold his memory in their hearts. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom were touched by his generous spirit and unwavering love. A service to celebrate Dillard's remarkable life will be held on May 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Pray Amarillo Church, located at 4000 SW 50th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79109. As we gather to honor his memory, we reflect on the countless ways he enriched our lives and the laughter and love he brought to every moment. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses at Landmark Nursing Home for their dedicated care, and to all the family and friends who have offered prayers and support during this time of grief. Your kindness and love have been a source of comfort and strength. Dillard Truman Albright III will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the love he gave and the joy he brought to those around him.
