Diaprie A. Mitchell

May 9, 1980 — April 12, 2026

A Life of Service, Strength, and Love: Remembering Diaprie Diaprie was born in Peoria, Illinois, into a family whose travels allowed her to live in many states throughout her life. She attended Garland High School in Texas before moving to Ruther Glen, Virginia. While attending Caroline High School, Diaprie distinguished herself as a star athlete in track and basketball. She was also selected as junior homecoming queen and later as prom queen. After graduating, Diaprie enlisted in the United States Army, where she continued traveling around the world while proudly serving her country. Her Military Occupational Specialty, 88M, involved heavy transport operations and took her to the front lines during the Iraq War in 2003. Diaprie was especially proud of the knowledge and skills she gained throughout her military career. Diaprie continued her education, earning a bachelor’s degree from Saint Leo University and a master’s degree in business from Stratford University. Her next adventure was a career with the federal government, including service with the U.S. Department of State, the Pentagon, and other offices. Guided by a lifelong desire to serve her country and help others, Diaprie devoted 20 years to the United States government. Diaprie was deeply loved by her family and many friends. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and cherished her fellow Soulja Girlz motorcycle club members. She also loved her pets, whom she nurtured like children. Diaprie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lillian M. Robinson, and her father, Priestly L. Mitchell, affectionately known as Big Priestly. Diaprie leaves to cherish her memory her son, Terren A. Mitchell; her mother, Dianne A. Hewitt; her sister, Dujuan Cornell; her brother, Priestly L. Mitchell II, and his wife, JoAnne; her grandmother, Bobbie Thomas; Teray Bundy, Terren’s father; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Beautiful Life Remembered

A daughter loved beyond all measure, A sister, a confidante, a treasured pleasure. A mother whose heart knew no end, And to so many, a faithful friend. She brightened lives with kindness and grace, Bringing warmth and comfort to every place. Through gentle words and loving care, She showed her family she was always there. Her laughter lingers, her spirit remains, In cherished memories and life's sweet refrains. Though tears may fall and hearts may ache, Her love is a gift that time cannot take. Forever remembered, forever dear, Forever present though no longer here. May she rest in peace, embraced by light, And watched over by Heaven's eternal sight. Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. ❤️
