Dianne Brooks
August 3, 1960 — March 7, 2026
Dianne Brooks, a beloved soul whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her, peacefully departed this world on March 7, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love she so generously gave to others. Born on August 3, 1960, in Memphis, Tennessee, Dianne was the cherished daughter of Johnny and Gracie Brooks, who have predeceased her, along with her dear siblings Willie Jean Deberry and Otis Brooks.
Throughout her life, Dianne embodied a spirit of gentleness and resilience, thriving on the love of her family and friends. Her father and mother, Johnny and Gracie, instilled a sense of compassion and strength in her that she carried forward to her surviving brothers: Johnny Brooks Jr. (Berdotha), Ronnie Brooks (Miriam), Jerry Brooks, and Edward Brooks. Their bond was unbreakable, and they will forever treasure the memories of their sister, whose laughter and love will continue to echo in their hearts.
Dianne was a woman of profound interests and simple joys, delighting in the art of puzzles which she meticulously pieced together, much like the lives she seamlessly intertwined. Her love for music knew no bounds, spanning across genres and eras, while her appreciation for old throwback television shows offered her a comforting slice of nostalgia.
Those who knew Dianne recognized a woman who was quick to smile, slow to anger, yet fiercely protective of those she loved. Her warmth and generosity were matched only by her strength, and her ability to make everyone feel seen and appreciated was a testament to her beautiful spirit. To be loved by Dianne was to be truly blessed, and those who loved her in return can attest to the immense joy she brought into their lives.
A service to honor Dianne's life will be held on March 14, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at New Park Cemetery, located at 4536 Horn Lake Rd. Here, family and friends will gather to celebrate the remarkable life of a woman who gave so much of herself to others.
The Brooks family extends their deepest gratitude to the Jackson County Medical Facility for their compassionate care during Dianne's final days. A special message of thanks is also extended to Carolyn Smith, who for 26 years stood by Dianne not only as a dedicated caretaker but as a sister in love. Carolyn's unwavering support and diligence have been a profound gift, and the family is eternally grateful for her presence in Dianne's life.
As we say goodbye to a remarkable woman, we carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and joy. Dianne Brooks will forever be missed, yet her spirit will continue to illuminate the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace, dear Dianne. Your journey may have ended, but your light will never fade.
