Diane (Wadzinski) LuMaye

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane (Wadzinski) LuMaye. Diane departed this world on July 21, 2026, at the age of 84, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love and warmth, just as she had given so freely throughout her life. Diane was born on August 22, 1941, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to the late Ervin and Olive Wadzinski. From an early age, she exhibited a spirited zest for life, an energy that never waned. A proud graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Diane carried the values and education she received there throughout her life, always striving to better herself and those around her. In her early years, Diane was a trailblazer, becoming one of the first "Packeretts," a role that allowed her to combine her love for her community with her passion for sports. Later, she found joy in curling with her beloved husband at the Green Bay Curling Club, a testament to her adventurous spirit and love for shared experiences. Diane was a devoted and long-time member of the Nativity of Our Lord Parish, where she fostered many friendships and contributed generously to her community. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, offering strength and comfort in times of need. Beyond her public achievements, Diane's true joy was found in the intimate moments of family life. She was the cherished mother of Lisa (Scott) Coates and Kim (Pat) Vandermause, and the proud grandmother of Jared Coates, Owen, Logan, and Anna Vandermause. Her legacy lives on in her two great-grandchildren, Hailey and Hannah Coates, who will carry forward her spirit of love and kindness. Diane is also survived by her sister, Cheryl (Bill) VanNelson, and two sister-in-laws, Marilyn (Bill) Reinholdt and Sue (Dave) Baumgartel, along with many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. Diane's love for gardening, flowers, and exploring farmers' markets was well-known to those close to her. She found peace and beauty in nature, much like the relationships she cultivated with everyone she met. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. In accordance with Diane's wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Nephew Doug (Melissa) LuMaye for their unwavering support of Kim and Lisa, and Diane's grandchildren. Gratitude is also extended to the "Cooks Corner crew". McCormick Assisted Living, Unity Hospice, for their care and services and Father Willie Van De Loo for his friendship and prayers. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Diane's memory may consider donating to a charity close to her heart or a local hospice organization.
