April 20, 1950 — May 22, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Holmberg Moeller Schilleci, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 22, 2026, at the age of 76. Diane was born on April 20, 1950, in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, where she resided most of her life.
Diane's journey was marked by a profound love story that began in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, a testament to beauty rising from adversity. Displaced by the Hurricane Katrina to River Ridge, Diane found solace and love in the arms of Frank Schilleci. Their eyes first met after Mass at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, and within eleven months, they pledged their lives to each other in the very place their paths converged. Their love was a beacon of hope and strength, an enduring partnership of almost 19 years.
A lifelong advocate of education, Diane pursued knowledge with vigor and dedication. She attended the University of New Orleans, Tulane University, Delgado, and Indian River Community College in Ft. Pierce, Florida. She emphasized the importance and value of education to her two sons,.
Diane dedicated her professional life to the medical field, where she made a significant impact. With an associate degree in Health Information Technology and RHIT credentials, she excelled in various roles within Medical Records, including medical transcription, coding, and release of information. She conducted her work with meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication to her field.
Beyond her career, Diane cherished the simple joys of life. Together with Frank, she built a sanctuary on the Pearl River, a cherished camp where they basked in the serenity of nature. An avid gardener, Diane found peace in nurturing her plants and watching them thrive. She enjoyed exploring new places and sharing these experiences with loved ones.
Diane had a compassionate spirit and was a dedicated and devoted wife and caregiver to her husband who suffered with Parkinson’s. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her as a kind soul who loved everyone she had met.
A service to celebrate Diane's life will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Kenner, Louisiana. As we gather to honor her memory, we take solace in knowing that Diane's spirit will continue to be with us as we continue our journey to home where we will be reunited.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Diane's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous heart and commitment to making the world a better place.
Rest in peace, dear Diane. Your journey on this earth has ended, but your love and light will forever remain in our hearts.
