Diane Morejon

Diane Morejon, a beloved mother, dedicated educator, and passionate adventurer, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, after a courageous battle with stage four colon cancer. She was 55 years old and left this world surrounded by love, with her two daughters by her side. Born on June 10th, 1971, in Weehawken, New Jersey, Diane was the cherished daughter of Maria Luisa Rodriguez and Eberto Morejon. She grew up in a home filled with love and support, which she carried into her own family life. Diane was predeceased by her dear mother, Maria Luisa Rodriguez, and is survived by her father, Eberto Morejon, her loving brother, Eberto Morejon Jr., and her two devoted daughters, Gabriella Guzman-Elias and Angelina Van Deilen. Diane graduated from Miami Springs High School in 1990. Committed to shaping young minds, she pursued her passion further and earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida in 1998. During her college years, Diane's dedication and hard work were recognized with her being on the Dean’s List in both the summer and fall of 1997, and she was also a proud member of the Golden Key Honor Society. Her teaching career started at Bay Point Elementary Magnet School, where she inspired countless first graders beginning in 1998. In 2004, Diane transitioned to teaching Spanish, a role she embraced wholeheartedly until her retirement in 2023. Her vibrant energy and passion for languages left an indelible mark on her students and colleagues alike. Diane's life was a tapestry of interests that brought her immense joy. She was an avid paddleboarder and loved spending time on the water with her traveling paddleboard clubs. Gardening with her father was a cherished pastime, and she found peace and balance through yoga. After retiring, Diane dedicated time to volunteering at Dogs Inc., where she helped train guide dogs. Her adventurous spirit led her to fulfill a lifelong dream of solo traveling in Spain, a journey that deepened her love for exploration. Above all, Diane was known for her infectious energy, her unwavering bravery, and the compassion she showed to everyone she met. Her strength was matched only by her devotion to her family, her students, and her friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and the importance of pursuing one's passions. In remembrance of Diane's life and her love for animals, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her honor to Dogs Inc., a cause she held dear to her heart. Diane Morejon will be missed profoundly by all who knew her, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and every life she touched through her teaching and kindness.
