In Loving Memory

Diane Lynn Mckain
March 19, 1955 — October 2, 2026
In loving memory of Diane Lynn Mckain, who graced this world with her presence on March 19, 1955, in Butler, Pennsylvania. Diane departed from us on October 2, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital, succumbing to an unexpected illness. Her journey, though marked by moments of challenge, was filled with love, warmth, and an unyielding spirit that touched all who knew her.
Born to Jane Viola Steffy and William Edward Steffy Sr., Diane was cherished by her family and carried their love throughout her life. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved son Douglas Mckain, her brothers Donald and William Steffy Jr., her sister Cynthia Kovocovsky, and her husband David Mckain. Despite these profound losses, Diane found solace in the enduring love of her surviving family.
Diane is survived by her devoted fiancée of over 20 years, Timothy Cook, who was her steadfast companion and partner in laughter and life. She leaves behind her brothers Terry, Dan, and Ronald Steffy; her son Dave Mckain; and her cherished nieces Michelle Frye, Ashley Kennedy, Susie Steffy, and Carla Steffy. Diane's legacy continues through her seven adoring grandchildren—Trisha, Bree, Alexis, Tyler, Ryan, Renee, and Desiree Mckain—and her five great-grandchildren, each carrying a piece of her heart.
A proud alumna of the Butler Area School District, Diane dedicated her career to the Saxonburg Foundry, where her hard work and dedication were evident to all. She was a valued member of God’s Country, a community that enriched her life and allowed her to share her boundless compassion and kindness.
Diane's life was filled with simple joys and hobbies that brought her immense happiness. She delighted in puzzles and online coloring, found pleasure in phone games, and was a faithful attendee at weekly bingo games. Each night, she and Timothy enjoyed playing dice, a ritual that brought them closer together.
Her personality was a beacon of love, care, and humor. Diane was known for her infectious laughter and zest for life, characteristics that endeared her to everyone she met. Her love was immeasurable, and she gave it freely to those around her, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Butler Memorial Hospital, Concordia, and Diane's niece Michelle Frye for the exceptional care and support they provided. In honor of Diane's love for animals, donations can be made to the Butler County Humane Society in Renfrew, PA.
As per Diane's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her life and the indelible mark she left on this world. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of a life well-lived, a heart full of love, and a spirit that will never be forgotten.
