It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Diane Jones, who peacefully departed this world on May 22, 2026, at the age of 72. Diane was born on March 24, 1954, in the charming town of Jonesboro, Arkansas, to her loving parents, Oscar and Lazeta Jones (née Alexander). She was a cherished sister to the late Sue Cowart, as well as to her surviving siblings Shelby Jean Berry, Cecil Jones, Danny and Rene Jones, and Paulette and Bill Zang. Diane’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and unwavering generosity. She spent much of her life in Houston, Texas, where she touched countless lives with her kindness and dedication to serving others. Diane was known for her gentle spirit and saw the best in everyone she met, never passing judgment and always offering a helping hand. Her love for her family was boundless and she found immense joy in the presence of her daughters, Misty and Jaine Arambula, Tracy and Jason Williams, and her seven grandchildren, Anthony, Izi, Marshall, Eric, Kandi, Samantha, and Ace, who were the light of her life. Diane also had a special place in her heart for her grand dogs, who were her loyal companions. Diane’s life was guided by her deep faith and love for Christ. She devoted her time to teaching and playing the piano, often filling her home with the sweet melodies that reflected her inner joy and devotion. Her humility and selflessness were hallmarks of her character, and she lived as a shining example of faith and love, inspiring everyone around her to do the same. The warmth and generosity of Diane’s spirit were evident to all who knew her. She was the nicest and sweetest person one could ever meet, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. A celebration of Diane’s life will be held on May 31, 2026, at Schmidt Funeral Home, located at 1344 W. Grand Parkway South, Katy, TX 77494. The service will begin at 3:00 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life and the indelible impact she made on all who were fortunate to know her. While we mourn the loss of a truly wonderful woman, we also celebrate the life she lived and the love she so freely shared. Diane Jones will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness, faith, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
