It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of our beloved Diana Mettauer on May 13, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on April 5, 1957, in McAllister, Oklahoma, Diana peacefully departed this world surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Diana was the treasured daughter of Fern Killion and Casey Jones, who predeceased her, along with her beloved husband, John Mettauer, and her six siblings: Helen, Jack, Buck, Nita, Cathy, and Steven. Her remarkable journey through life was enriched by her deep connections with family and friends, whose lives she touched with her kindness and compassion. Diana shared a beautiful and loving marriage with John Mettauer, whom she wed in May of 2004. Together, they created a haven of happiness and love, spending 20 wonderful years surrounded by their growing family. Diana is survived by her cherished children: April and Brett Bee, Josh and Jennifer Stevens, Caleb and Lisa Stevens, Peter Mettauer, April and Brent Herman, Jason and Erin Harris, and JP and Holly Mettauer. Her legacy of love continues through her 19 adored grandchildren: Dallis, Alex, Mary, Madeline, Jacob, Braden, Jacky, Rebecca, Patrick, Olivia, Cassandra, Shia, Lua, Harlie, Andrew, Alex, Lucas, Jasmine, and Kendall. Diana had a vibrant spirit, a heart that embraced life with open arms, and an infectious smile. Known for her green thumb, she found joy in nurturing her plants and gardens, creating beauty and life wherever she went. Her laughter and stories were shared with friends, family, and anyone fortunate enough to be in her company. Diana had a unique way of connecting with people, often keeping a watchful eye on her neighbors, offering care and support when needed. She was a woman of many talents and passions, from her love for music and fishing to her dedication to feeding people and reminiscing about cherished memories. Her community was her extended family, and she held a special place in the hearts of those who knew her. Diana's warmth and generosity created lifelong friendships, and her spirit will continue to inspire us all. A service to celebrate Diana's life will be held on May 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at High Bridge Baptist Church, located at 6246 NW Highbridge Rd, Wilburton, OK 74578. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at OU Medical for their outstanding care and compassion during Diana's final hours. Their dedication and kindness will always be remembered. In remembering Diana, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her in return. Rest in peace, dear Diana. You will be forever missed and forever cherished.
