Deyon Foster

March 3, 1947 — October 12, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Deyon Foster, a beloved husband, father, and friend to many, who departed this life on October 12, 2026, at the age of 79. Born in the quaint town of Rosiclare, Illinois, on March 3, 1947, Deyon was the cherished son of Mack and Norma Jean Hobbs Foster. Deyon was a man whose talents knew no bounds, especially in the realm of mechanics. His career was testament to his skill and dedication, as he served as a heavy equipment operator for LaFarge until his well-earned retirement. His work was not just a means of livelihood but a passion that he pursued with diligence and pride. For nearly 60 years, Deyon shared his life with his devoted wife, Janice Ruth Cowsert Foster. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, and together they built a life filled with cherished memories and shared experiences. Deyon was also a proud and loving father to his daughter, Renee' Foster, who was the light of his life. Family was paramount to Deyon, and he was deeply connected to his siblings, Rocco and Janice Foster. He is reunited in eternity with his brother, Randy Foster, and sister, Debbie Foster, who predeceased him. Deyon's faith was an integral part of his life. As a member of the Rock Creek General Baptist Church, he was a man of strong convictions and generous spirit, whose presence will be missed by all who knew him. A service to honor and celebrate Deyon's life will be held on Saturday October 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home, located at 211 N. Jackson St., Harrisburg, IL. Friends and family are invited to gather together from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM to pay their respects and share in the memories of a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the family, in memory of Deyon. Deyon Foster's legacy is not only etched in the hearts of those who loved him but also in the enduring impact he had on his community and all who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
