It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dewayne Hamill, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who left this world on October 23, 2026. Dewayne graced us with his presence on November 15, 1979, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he was born to Judy and Dewayne Hamill Sr.
Throughout his life, Dewayne was a beacon of joy and laughter, known for his warmth and generous spirit. He attended Ringgold High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia, setting the stage for a life filled with adventure and love.
Fifteen years ago, Dewayne married the love of his life, Ellis. Together, they carved out a beautiful journey, living in Japan, Spain, and finally settling in Norfolk, Virginia. Their home was filled with laughter and love, especially with their cherished daughter, Emma, who was Dewayne's pride and joy.
A true enthusiast of Auburn football, Dewayne found immense joy in cheering on his favorite team. He was passionate about travel, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories with his family. His love for his daughter Emma was immeasurable, and he cherished every moment spent with her.
Dewayne is survived by his devoted wife Ellis; his adored daughter Emma; his sisters Marcie Sink of Augusta, Georgia, and Angela Didicher of Ringgold, Georgia; and his Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Michael Horton of Ringgold, Georgia. He also leaves behind two beloved nieces, Clayton and Sierra, and a nephew, Jay.
