It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved De'Vontae Jeremiah-Charles Harris, who left this world on March 17, 2026, at the tender age of 27. De'Vontae's journey on this earth began on November 5, 1998, in Detroit, Michigan, where he was born to his loving mother, Kimberly Harris. His life, though short, was rich with love, music, and selfless dedication to others. De'Vontae bravely battled leukemia, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family, ultimately finding peace at home in the presence of his mother and sister. His departure has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit and legacy of compassion will continue to inspire and comfort us. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Philip Fox; his grandfather, Tyrone Lee; his grandmother, Bertha Lee Washington; his great-grandmother, Virginia Lee; and his great-grandfather, Willie Charles Harris. De'Vontae cherished their memories and often spoke of the wisdom and love they imparted. De'Vontae is survived by his devoted mother, Kimberly Harris, who was his guiding light and pillar of strength; his brother, Ronzell Harris and wife La'Nija; his sister, Kimora Harris; and his loving grandparents, Pamela Floyd and husband David, and Willie Washington. His cherished nieces, Emory and Eiceland, along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, will forever hold him in their hearts. A proud graduate of Hazel Park High School, class of 2015, De'Vontae was known for his intellectual curiosity and kind spirit. He went on to work as a caregiver for Fastemps in Howell, Michigan, where his compassionate nature touched the lives of many. His colleagues and clients alike remember him for his gentle demeanor and unwavering dedication to the well-being of others. De'Vontae was a passionate music enthusiast, finding solace and expression in the art of songwriting and recording. He spent countless hours in the studio with his brother, crafting melodies that captured the essence of his soul. Together, they also shared a love for fishing, a pastime that brought them peace and joy amidst life's trials. As we gather to celebrate De'Vontae's life, we remember a young man whose heart was as vast as the melodies he created. His legacy of love, resilience, and creativity will forever echo in the hearts of all who were privileged to know him. A memorial service will be held in his honor, details of which will be shared with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to leukemia research, in the hope that others may find courage and solace in De'Vontae's memory. Rest in peace, dear De'Vontae. You will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever remain in our hearts.
