It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Devon Williams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on May 5, 1964, in Annapolis, Maryland, Devon departed this world on April 28, 2026, at the age of 61, after a sudden heart attack at home. Though his time with us was unexpectedly shortened, his legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will resonate eternally. Devon was the cherished son of Charles Williams and Helen Watkins, who lovingly nurtured his early years. He was preceded in death by his dear mother, Helen Wilson, his sister Kimberly Ennis, and his brother Myron Ennis. The family takes solace in knowing they are now reunited in peace. Raised in Annapolis, Devon graduated from Meade High School, where he began to forge the path that would lead him to a life of service and dedication. He answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army, dedicating 25 honorable years to his nation and retiring with the rank of sergeant. His military service was a testament to his unwavering commitment and leadership. After his military career, Devon pursued his passion for the culinary arts, earning a bachelor's degree in the field. He worked as a cook in numerous hotels and restaurants, where his culinary talents were matched only by his love for bringing joy to others through food. His career also led him to serve as a caregiver, a role in which his nurturing spirit shone brightly. In 2014, Devon married the love of his life, Stephanie Johnson, on a picturesque Valentine's Day. Together, they embarked on a shared journey, traveling the state in their cherished trailer. Recently, they set their sights on Las Vegas, Nevada, where they eagerly planned to spend their golden years. Devon's true passion was his family. He was a devoted father to Sherrice, Devon, and Britney Williams, and a doting grandfather to his five grandchildren. His brother, Charles Williams, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, will forever cherish his memory. Known for his warm smile, Devon was a beacon of kindness and generosity. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and his spirit of giving enriched the lives of all who knew him. His legacy will be carried forward by those he touched with his gentle heart and unwavering spirit. A private funeral service will be held on May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and generosity during this difficult time. Your kind words have been a source of comfort and strength. Devon's life was a tapestry woven with love, service, and adventure. Though we mourn his passing, we celebrate the beautiful journey he shared with us. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all.
