Devin Coonan
August 9, 1983 — April 17, 2026
Devin Coonan, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this world on April 17, 2026, at his home after a valiant and inspiring battle with cancer that spanned over a decade. Born on August 9, 1983, in Seattle, Washington, Devin's journey was marked by love, kindness, and an unwavering faith that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Devin had a heart of gold and the warmest smile. He would drop everything to be there for a friend in need, no questions asked. He would do anything for the people he loved and never asked for anything in return. He was selfless. Devin was always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. His faith in the Lord was unshakeable, and he strived to share this love and hope with everyone he encountered.
In 2002, Devin graduated from Waterville High School. That fall, he attended Central Washington University, and after 3 years, he left to join Ballard Ambulance as an EMT in the Wenatchee Valley.
On May 31, 2014, Devin married the love of his life, Ahna Dougherty, in Douglas, Washington. Their union was a beautiful tapestry of love and adventure, blessed with the births of their two precious daughters, Lilah Josephine on July 7, 2015, and Coralynn MadoraRose on March 27, 2019. Devin's family was his greatest treasure, and as his health began to decline, he embraced his role as a stay-at-home dad with joy and devotion, cherishing every moment spent with his girls. It didn't matter whether he was taking them to the pool or the park, helping them with homeschool or just relaxing at home doing a puzzle. He was happy to be there for it all.
Devin's passions were as diverse as they were profound. An avid hunter, he eagerly anticipated elk camp each year, relishing the camaraderie and connection with nature it afforded him. Camping, a beloved pastime since childhood, brought him immense peace and joy, whether with family or friends. His love for horses was another testament to his adventurous spirit, and he found solace and fulfillment in riding and caring for them.
Devin is survived by his devoted wife, Ahna, his cherished children Timmi (Tihon) Stepanov, Levi Buyas, Lilah Jo, and Coralynn Coonan, brothers-in-law Charles (Cindy) Dougherty, Michael (Puk) Dougherty, Dan Gilbertson, Patrick (Jill) Dougherty, sister Kaitlin (Ian) Jorgensen, mother-in-law Polly, and countless nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Kerry and Susan Coonan, and his father-in-law, Chuck.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Carl and Michael Parker, whose generosity and care during Devin's final months were a blessing beyond measure.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Devin's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him, a shining example of grace, courage, and unconditional love.
