It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved Desi Marie Patterson, who departed this world on April 9, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on August 19, 1960, in Murphysboro, Illinois, Desi was the cherished daughter of Norma Jean Brown Patterson and Ardell Sr. Patterson.
Desi was a vibrant soul, a beacon of joy and positivity whose light shone brightly in the lives of all who knew her. She was a woman of many talents and interests, and her love for music, dancing, cooking, singing, and decorating transformed ordinary days into extraordinary memories. Desi was an exceptional homemaker, creating warm and welcoming spaces filled with laughter and love.
Her family was her world, and she was a devoted mother to her children: Davonna Davison, Charles Gaston, Charee Gaston, Jeff Patterson, and Tanesia Johnson. Desi's legacy of love extends to her cherished grandchildren: Mya Patterson, Aysther Martin, Roman Harrison, Jeshua White, Jeff Jr. Patterson, and Junior Patterson, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Desi's life was also enriched by her surviving siblings: Norman Patterson, Christopher Patterson, Shelby Smith Patterson, and Carmen Patterson. Although life separated her from her predeceased siblings Leslie, Ardell, Kenneth, Nicole, Branu, and her niece Stephanie Patterson, their memories continued to live on in her heart.
Among her family, Desi shared a special bond with her friends Marie and Johnie Mae, who were as close as family to her. Together, they shared countless memories filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering support.
Desi was known for her infectious smile and her ability to find joy in every moment. Her fun-loving and outgoing nature endeared her to all, making her a treasured friend and confidante. Her unwavering positivity and love for her family and friends were a testament to her generous spirit and kind heart.
A celebration of Desi's beautiful life will be held on May 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Giddens Memorial Chapel, located at 2610 North Martin Luther King Boulevard, North Las Vegas, NV 89030. For those who are unable to attend in person, a livestream of the service will be available at this link.
In remembering Desi, we hold onto the joy she brought into our lives, the love she shared so freely, and the light she infused into our hearts. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will forever live on in the laughter of her children, the smiles of her grandchildren, and the cherished memories we all hold dear.
