It is with profound sadness and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Derrick Hampton, who transitioned from this life to the loving arms of the Lord on July 6, 2026, in the comfort of his mother's home. Born on October 19, 1993, in Pineville, Louisiana, Derrick was a beacon of joy and inspiration to all who knew him. Derrick was a beloved son of Shirley Hampton and Joseph Dupas Jr., who cherished him dearly. He was predeceased by his sisters, Natalie Hampton and De'Shawnda Hampton, and he leaves behind a rich legacy through his son, Derrick Hampton Jr. Derrick is also survived by his supportive siblings, James Hampton, Jason Hampton, D'Zaine Hampton, and Allison Kelly (Danny), as well as his sister Rebecca Dupas. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and a host of friends who loved him. Derrick was an aspiring rapper with the artist name "D-Loc," and his passion for music was only surpassed by the love he had for his family. His giving heart and infectious spirit endeared him to everyone he met, leaving a lasting impression that will remain in our hearts forever. A service to honor Derrick’s life will be held on July 18, 2026, at 10:00 PM at the Winfield Funeral Home, located at 2033 3rd St., Alexandria, Louisiana 71302. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Derrick are invited to join us in celebrating his life and bidding farewell to a truly remarkable soul.
