OBITUARY
Derrick Dwayne Warren, age 59, was born on August 10, 1967, in Lubbock, Texas. He departed this life on August 23, 2026, at St. Joseph Hospital.
Derrick attended Bryan ISD throughout his school years and was a proud graduate of Bryan High School. Throughout his life, he worked various jobs, but he especially loved his time working at Wolf Pen Creek.
Derrick was a private person with a caring heart and a generous spirit. He loved to laugh, watch movies, and listen to music. Some of his favorite artists included Freddie Jackson and Al Green.
He was also a serious Dallas Cowboys fan and proudly collected Cowboys memorabilia.
As a child, Derrick loved The Incredible Hulk and The Six Million Dollar Man. Those who knew him will remember his quiet and private nature, his ability to laugh, and his willingness to help others.
Derrick was a giver. He would often offer to help people financially, even when he did not really have the funds to do so. He cared deeply about others and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Above all, Derrick loved his mother, Dorothy Warren, very much. There was not anything he would not do for his mother and his family. His love for his family was an important part of who he was, and his generosity and caring spirit touched the lives of those around him.
Derrick leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Dorothy Warren; his brothers, Earnest Warren Jr. III, Alonzo, Christopher , and Otis ; his sisters, Phyllis, Sandra, Charlot, Elaine, Shay, and Porsha; his best friend, Donald Gibbs; and a host of extended family members, friends, and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Warren Jr., who passed away in 2017; his brother, Patrick Warren; his sister, Yvonne Warren; and his brother-in-law, Eric Finnigan.
Derrick did not have children, but he gave his love, kindness, and generosity freely to his family, friends, and those who needed him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who knows him and loves him.
