Derias Williams

October 12, 1993 — June 7, 2026

With deep sorrow and heartache, we announce the passing of our beloved Derias Williams, who left this world far too soon on June 7, 2026. Born on October 12, 1993, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois, Derias was a beacon of light and laughter, cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. Derias was the treasured son of Teresa Williams and Kyron Branch, who nurtured him with love and guided him through life’s journey. He was preceded in death by his cherished grandmother, Rosietta Butler, and his respected grandfather, William Holman Jr., whose memories he held dear to his heart. A proud alumnus of Miles Davis Academy and Simeon, Derias graduated in 2012, marking the beginning of a life full of promise and potential. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, he had an innate ability to light up any room he entered. His sense of humor was infectious, always ready with a joke to lift spirits and bring joy to those around him. Derias found joy in the simplest of pleasures, spending countless hours immersed in the worlds of football and gaming. These hobbies were not just pastimes but avenues through which he connected deeply with friends and family, creating bonds that will forever remain unbroken. He leaves behind a loving family who will carry forward his memory and legacy. Derias is survived by his devoted mother, Teresa Williams; his father, Kyron Branch; his three endearing sisters, Ashlei Williams, Tratoria Williams (Lentric), and Khamile Branch; and two brothers, Cordero Williams and De’Varrei Williams. His nieces, Taja Williams, Bianca Davis, Lola Williams, and Kori Williams, and nephews, Jkai Davis and Khylen Williams, will forever remember their uncle’s playful spirit and loving embrace. Derias’s circle of love extended beyond his immediate family, including a host of aunties, uncles, and countless friends who were like family to him. Among those who held a special place in his heart were his dear friends Wakela, TY, and Juan, who stood by him through thick and thin. The family invites all who knew and loved Derias to celebrate his life on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Acklin Funeral Home, located at 1325 W 87th St. It will be a time to honor the beautiful life he lived, share cherished memories, and find solace in the company of those he touched. Though his life was tragically cut short, the impact Derias made on his community and loved ones is immeasurable. As we gather to remember him, let us hold onto the laughter he shared, the joy he brought, and the love he gave so freely. In our hearts, Derias will forever remain, a guiding light in our lives. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he was profoundly loved and will be deeply missed by all.
