Derek Rodman

March 13, 2013 — June 11, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Derek Rodman, who left this world peacefully in his sleep on June 11, 2026. Derek was born on March 13, 2013, in the warm embrace of Ohio, a state that cradled his early years with love and laughter. Derek was the cherished son of Trinly and Dennlis Rodman, who nurtured him with unwavering love and dedication. Though his time with us was brief, Derek brought immeasurable joy and light into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His laughter was infectious, and his gentle spirit touched everyone around him. In his brief yet meaningful journey, Derek was educated in New York, a place where he flourished and made countless memories. While he did not serve in the military or pursue a formal career, Derek's presence was a gift in itself, a testament to the power of simply being. Derek was a member of "I got 100 puns, 100 clips," an organization that undoubtedly appreciated his unique humor and creativity. His love for life was evident in his capacity for joy, and his ability to find beauty in the mundane was a lesson to us all. While Derek may not have pursued traditional hobbies or interests, his essence was one of pure authenticity. His presence was a reminder that being true to oneself is the greatest gift we can offer the world. Though Derek did not leave behind a list of accomplishments or accolades, he possessed qualities that are often overlooked but deeply valued: kindness, authenticity, and the ability to bring comfort simply by being present. He was predeceased by his dear family member, Jackson Pulmman, and we find solace in the thought that they are reunited, sharing eternal peace. A service to honor and celebrate Derek's life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 11:10 AM at St. John's Church, located at 123 Mulberry Street, New York, NY 100570. We invite all who knew Derek to join us in remembering the joy he brought into our lives, and to celebrate the love and light he shared with the world. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to "This is how we do," an organization that aligns with Derek's spirit of simplicity and authenticity. Though Derek's time on earth was brief, his impact was profound. He taught us that the essence of life lies not in grand accomplishments, but in the quiet moments of connection and love. As we say goodbye, we carry forward Derek's spirit, forever grateful for the time we shared with such a beautiful soul. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us to live with kindness and authenticity.
