It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Derek Krueger, a beloved son, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed from this world on March 16, 2025. Born on January 5, 1986, in Buffalo, NY, Derek lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and generosity that touched all who knew him. Derek was the cherished son of Kai and Patrick Burnett, who instilled in him the values of compassion and resilience. He carried these lessons throughout his life, inspiring those around him with his unwavering dedication to family and friends. Derek's life was a testament to the power of love and connection, as he always placed the needs of others before his own. Predeceased by his dear relative, Jeffery Bonerb, Derek held the memory of his loved ones close to his heart, honoring them through his actions and the impact he had on others. Derek's legacy is carried forward by his surviving family members, who were the center of his universe. He was a devoted father, grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren, and a proud great-grandfather to one precious great-grandchild, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life. Derek’s warmth and humor were infectious, and he had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Whether he was sharing stories, offering a listening ear, or simply being present, Derek's genuine spirit made a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though Derek's journey on Earth has come to an end, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those he leaves behind. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his laughter, his unwavering support, and the unconditional love he shared. A celebration of Derek's life will be held to honor and remember the incredible person he was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Derek's memory to a charity of choice, symbolizing the kindness and generosity that defined his life. As we say goodbye to Derek, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light that will continue to inspire love and compassion in all of us.
