December 1, 1937 — October 14, 2026

In Loving Memory of Deo Pachas It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deo on October 14, 2026. Born on December 1, 1937, in Lima, Peru, Deo's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. He passed away peacefully, following a brief illness, surrounded by the love of his family. Deo was the cherished son of the late Juan and Luciana Pachas, and he was reunited in passing with his beloved siblings Juan (Jr), Dominga, Irene, Julio, Antonia, and Maximo. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary, with whom he shared a remarkable 61-year marriage that began when they wed on July 17, 1965, in Arlington, Virginia. Together, Deo and Mary raised six wonderful children: Kevin (Paige), Sean (Nisreen), Patrick, Denis (Alexandra), Shannon (Charlie), and Brendan (Meghan). Deo's legacy of love and kindness continues through his six grandchildren: Charlie (Jr), Octavia, Ellie, Luciana, Evelyn, and Alais, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. A lifelong learner, Deo earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from George Mason University in 2006, inspiring all who knew him with his dedication to education. Professionally, he spent over two decades as a trusted Sales and Leasing Consultant at Pohanka Acura in Chantilly, Virginia, retiring in 2013. His colleagues and clients remember him for his integrity, his gentle humor, and his genuine interest in their lives. Deo was an enthusiastic sailor, a passion that fueled his spirit and saw him actively involved with the Sailing Club of Washington in Alexandria, Virginia. In retirement, he found joy in sharing his love for the sea as a volunteer youth sailing instructor at the Colington Harbour Yacht and Racquet Club in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Deo was a man who never met a stranger. His warmth and kindness touched everyone he met, and he had a special gift for making people feel welcome and valued. His quiet humor and gentle mentorship left lasting impressions on countless lives. As a beloved Grampa, Deo cherished his time with family, whether sailing the open waters or enjoying the sun and sand at the beach. His love for life and his family was evident in every smile and every hug, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A Catholic Mass and Burial will be held on October 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM at St. Mary's (Historic) Catholic Church, located at 5605 Vogue Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to SNARR Northeast in Deo's memory, as a testament to his generous spirit and love for helping others. Deo's life was devoted to love, family, and the joy of giving. As we remember and celebrate his extraordinary journey, may we carry forward his legacy of warmth, kindness, and laughter in our own lives.
