In Loving Memory

Denver D Karshner
October 29, 1974 — June 15, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Denver D. Karshner, who departed from this world on June 15, 2026, at the age of 51. Denver was born on October 29, 1974, in the charming town of Circleville, Ohio, where he began a life that would touch countless others with his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.
Denver's journey through life was marked by moments of joy, and a strong sense of adventure. In August 2001, he united in marriage with Karalea Lane, and together they built a life based on mutual respect and shared dreams. Denver embraced Karalea's two sons, William (Raven) Goodwick and Raymond Lane, as his own, and his love for them was only matched by his pride in his two grandsons, Fynnley and Atreus Goodwick, who brought immense joy to his days.
A lifelong learner, Denver pursued his passion for history and graduated from Ohio University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in the subject. His intellectual curiosity extended beyond the confines of academia, as he immersed himself in the vibrant gaming community, contributing his time and talents to events such as GenCon and Origins for over a decade. Denver's love for tabletop games, particularly Warhammer and Dungeons & Dragons, as well as his enthusiasm for online video gaming, were well-known among his friends and family. These hobbies not only engaged his strategic mind but also fostered lasting friendships that he cherished deeply.
Professionally, Denver dedicated his skills as an IT supporter at Mead Papermill in Chillicothe, Ohio, until 2017, when health challenges necessitated his early retirement. Despite these challenges, Denver's spirit remained unbroken, and his legacy of service continued through his six years as a volunteer firefighter in Pickaway County. His courage and selflessness in helping others were hallmarks of his character.
Denver was predeceased by his mother, Rita Karshner, and his beloved father, Edward Wolfe. He is survived by his devoted wife, Karalea Lane; his sons, William (Raven) Goodwick and Raymond Lane; two adored grandchildren; and a circle of close friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
In honor of Denver's life and the joy he brought to those around him, a service will be held on June 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, located at 120 S Eastmoor Dr, New Bremen, OH 45869. The family extends an invitation to all who knew Denver to join them in remembering a man who gave so much of himself to others.
In a special message from the family, they ask that in tribute to Denver's love for gaming, everyone who can should step outside, look up at the sky, and remember him for 4 d6 minutes—or simply, 20 minutes for those less familiar with gaming dice. It is a fitting homage to a man who found joy in creating enjoyment for others.
Denver D. Karshner will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the love he freely gave. While his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and forever loved.
