The beloved son of Buford and Lorene Pennington Doughty, Dennis was raised with strong values that guided him throughout his life. His early years in Mississippi laid the foundation for a lifetime of service, both in his professional career and personal passions. A proud veteran, Dennis served his country with honor in the United States Navy, embodying the spirit of commitment and bravery. Following his military service, he dedicated 33 years as a skilled electrician for the Tennessee Valley Authority, where his expertise and work ethic left a lasting impact on colleagues and friends alike. Dennis was a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church in West Point, where his faith and fellowship were an integral part of his life. He found joy in the simple pleasures and was a familiar face at Mississippi State University tailgates, where his infectious enthusiasm and ringing cowbell were a staple of the celebrations. His love for bluegrass music brought many together, and his presence could always be felt at a lively brass gavel auction. Dennis also found adventure in geocaching, continually seeking out new paths and hidden treasures. On August 11, 1995, Dennis married the love of his life, Virginia "Ginny" Ann Doughty, in a beautiful ceremony in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Their union was a source of strength, love, and unwavering support, enriching the lives of all who knew them. Dennis will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who take solace in the many wonderful memories they shared. His legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and a life lived with purpose and passion.
