Dennis Maurice Banks

Dennis Maurice Banks, a beloved father, brother, and friend, left us unexpectedly on July 10, 2026, at the age of 55,. Born on October 30, 1970, in vibrant Chicago, Illinois, Dennis was a beacon of joy and warmth to all who knew him.
Dennis was the cherished son of Daphne Bonita Banks and Dennis Cody White. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Daphne Bonita Banks, and Daniel Mitchell (father). He is survived by his devoted son, Dennis Banks Jr., his siblings Daphne, Daniel, Darlene, and Deangelo Banks, as well as Tish Moody (Dennis White). He leaves behind three adored grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends who will carry forward his legacy of laughter and love.
Dennis educational journey began at John C. Haines Elementary School, where he graduated in June 1984, and continued at Wendell Phillips High School. Demonstrating resilience and determination, he later rebuilt his life alongside Pastor Corey Brooks and earned a certificate marking his triumphant personal growth.
Throughout his career, Dennis was a dedicated union employee, contributing his talents to Holsten Management, Eastlake Management, and The Habitat Company. He found joy and fellowship as an attendee of New Beginnings Church under the guidance of Pastor Corey Brooks.
A man of many talents, Dennis was known for his love of dancing and singing, passions he shared generously with family and friends. His spirit was infectious, always able to make those around him smile. Dennis was known for his unselfish nature, constantly giving of himself to help others, embodying a spirit of kindness that touched countless lives.
A service to honor Dennis's life will be held on July 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Omega Baptist Church, located at 4627 S State Street, Chicago, IL 60653. Family and friends are invited to join in celebration of a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever be missed.
