December 16, 1957 — June 22, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Dennis Dickerson, who left this world on June 22, 2026. Born on December 16, 1957, in the quaint city of Victoria, Texas, Dennis brought warmth and kindness into the lives of everyone he touched throughout his 68 years. Dennis was the cherished son of the late Martha Gail Wilkinson and Billy Joe Dickerson, whose memory he carried with him always. He is lovingly remembered by his brother, Richard Dickerson, his devoted children, Daileigh Kaitlyn Tibbets and Dayton Joseph Dickerson, and their families, including his four treasured grandchildren. For over three decades, Dennis dedicated his career to the Pueblo County Road and Bridge. His work was a testament to his commitment to his community, ensuring the roads were safe and reliable for his neighbors. Beyond his career, Dennis was a man who found solace in the embrace of nature. He cherished the simple pleasures of life, sharing his love of wildlife and the great outdoors with his friends and family. Fishing in Rockport, Texas, was a favorite pastime, where he found both peace and joy in the company of good friends. A man of humor and kindness, Dennis was known for his gentle spirit and unwavering support for those around him. Despite his own internal anxieties, he always put forth his best effort to be a pillar for his family and community. His passion for genealogy and uncovering the stories of American history was a reflection of his deep appreciation for the past and the lessons it offers for the present. Dennis's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the residents of Rye and Colorado City, Colorado, for fostering a nurturing environment for Dennis and his children. Their love and support have been invaluable throughout the years. In this time of loss, the family also wishes to express their profound appreciation to the first responders who bravely saved their family home during the Aspen Acres Fire. Their thoughts are with all those affected by the tragedy. In honor of Dennis's life and legacy, the family suggests that donations be made to local wildlife conservation efforts or genealogical societies, causes that held a special place in his heart. Dennis Dickerson's life was a testament to the strength of community, the beauty of nature, and the enduring power of kindness. He will be sorely missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who had the privilege to know him.
