In Loving Memory

Dennis Clark Sankey
March 30, 1949 — May 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Clark Sankey, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Dennis departed this world peacefully at home on May 1, 2026, at the age of 77, after courageously battling heart disease, kidney disease, and cancer. His journey began on March 30, 1949, in West Seattle, WA, where he was born to Ross and Jessie Sankey.
Dennis was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Ross and Jessie Sankey, his brother Jim Sankey, and numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and dear friends who have gone before him. His legacy, however, continues through his devoted wife of 51 years, Nayna Sankey, who stood by his side through every challenge and triumph. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He leaves behind his two sons, Ryan and Kyle, who carry forward his spirit of kindness and dedication. Ryan, alongside his wife Lisa, blessed Dennis with grandchildren Marissa, Christopher, and Nathaniel. Kyle, with his wife Denisia, added to the family joy with their children, Zachary, Oliver, and Chloe. In total, Dennis was a proud grandfather to six wonderful grandchildren who brought endless joy to his life.
Dennis is also survived by his siblings: Ed Sankey and his wife Terry; Janice and her husband Robert Bachrach; and brother Scott Sankey, along with their families. He will be fondly remembered by countless friends who were touched by his warmth and genuine kindness.
Dennis' life was a tapestry of varied experiences and unwavering devotion. A graduate of Shoreline High School in 1968, he later pursued vocational training in heating, oil burners, and electrical equipment. His career journey led him from Boeing in Everett to the adventurous waters of Alaska as a King Crab fisherman. His search for a true companion brought him back to Washington, where he met Nayna, his steadfast partner in life.
He found not only a wife but also a deeper connection to faith and community at the Unalaska Christian Fellowship, where he embraced a life of service to God, family, and friends. Known for his warm smile and the ability to make everyone feel welcomed and valued, Dennis was a beacon of light to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Beyond his many roles, Dennis loved his family and church dearly, always cherishing the moments spent with them. His life was a testament to living without regret, guided by faith and surrounded by good people.
A celebration of Dennis' life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Entiat Warehouse Community Church, located at 14916 Hwy 97A, Entiat, WA. His family invites all who knew him to join in honoring his remarkable journey.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to support family travel and participation in this celebration of life. Contributions can be made through Everloved.com/life-of/dennis-sankey/.
The Sankey family extends their heartfelt gratitude to God and their larger church family for the prayers and support that sustained Dennis beyond medical expectations.
