Born on Valentine’s Day in 1962, Dennis began his journey in Silverton, Oregon, where he was welcomed into the world by his loving parents, Raymond and Bernice Berry. He was a cherished son, brother, husband, and friend, whose presence left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Dennis was a proud graduate of Silverton High School, where he laid the foundation for a life of service and dedication. After high school, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy. During his eight years of active duty, Dennis served as a Navy Jet Hydraulics mechanic, showcasing his expertise and commitment aboard the USS Kitty Hawk during a Mediterranean cruise amid Operation Desert Storm, and on the USS Kennedy during a world cruise. His dedication to service extended into the Navy Reserves for an additional two years, embodying the true spirit of a patriot. On October 3, 1992, Dennis married the love of his life, Alicia Graham Broughton, in Gresham, Oregon. Their union was blessed and sealed for eternity in the Portland, Oregon Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and faith. Dennis embraced his role as a devoted husband, stepfather to Raymond Broughton, Elizabeth Broughton, and Cathy Brimhall, and the beloved grandfather to six adoring grandchildren. Following his military service, Dennis wore many hats, working in auto glass, hydraulic hose manufacture and repair, and as both a school bus and public transportation driver. His work was not just a means to an end but an extension of his dedication to serving others. It was evident in every task he undertook and every life he touched. Dennis was also a man of community and faith, actively participating in various organizations and serving as a Boy Scout leader multiple times. He had a profound love for teaching children and guiding them in their faith journey, always eager to share the teachings of the Lord. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Bernice Berry, and is survived by his devoted wife, Alicia Marlene Berry; his sister, Susan Walker; brothers, Gordon, Rex, and Brian Berry; as well as his cherished stepchildren and grandchildren.
