Dennis Banks

August 14, 1958 — August 30, 2026

Dennis Banks, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on August 30, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones at his home. Born on August 14, 1958, in Alexander City, Alabama, Dennis was a cherished son of the late Eloise Banks and JD Benson. He loved his children Ninga Johnson, Diego Johnson, and Jaquette Allen, and a proud grandfather to his ten grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Dennis was a man who lived with a passion for life and a love for his family. After graduating from high school, he served his country with honor and pride in the military, a testament to his dedication and strength. His time in service was marked by the same commitment and integrity that he carried with him throughout his life. Cooking was one of Dennis's great passions. He found joy in preparing meals and sharing them with his family and friends. His kitchen was a place of warmth and laughter, where he created not only delicious dishes but also cherished memories. Dennis's love for his grandchildren was boundless, and he relished every moment spent with them, sharing stories, wisdom, and love. Dennis is survived by his children, his ten grandchildren, and his dear friend Judy Smith,(two special children)who cherished their special bond. He was predeceased by his parents, Eloise Banks and JD Benson, who welcomed him into their loving embrace. Dennis Banks's legacy of love, kindness, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As his daughter Ninga poignantly expressed, although he is no longer here for us to see or hold, his love will always surround us. We hold on to the hope that one day we will be together again, cherishing the memories we shared until that day comes. Rest peacefully, Dennis. Your journey may have ended, but your spirit and love will continue to light our paths.
