In Loving Memory

Denita Donyell Blount
July 11, 1976 — June 21, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Denita Donyell Blount, affectionately known as Dawn, who departed this earthly realm on June 21, 2026. Born on July 11, 1976, Dawn's life was a testament to love, resilience, and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Dawn was welcomed into this world by her loving parents, Bobbie Lee King and Nellie Mae King, who have gone before her, along with her cherished aunt, Mary Lee Mason. Though now reunited with them, Dawn's legacy of kindness and warmth remains with those she leaves behind.
A proud graduate of Smithfield High School's Class of 1994, Dawn was a dedicated and hardworking individual. She devoted several years of her career to Hardees and Smithfield Packing Co., where she not only excelled professionally but also formed lasting friendships that enriched her life.
Faith was a cornerstone of Dawn's life. Having found Christ at an early age, she was a devoted disciple, embodying the teachings of compassion and service until her health no longer permitted her regular attendance at church. Her spirit of grace and resilience never waned, even in the face of adversity.
Dawn's memory will be forever cherished by her beloved daughter, Deniah Blount, her six sisters, three brothers, and three bonus children, each of whom carries a piece of her heart. She is also survived by her loving companion, Tyrone Jordan, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, all of whom will feel the absence of her radiant smile and gentle spirit.
A Graveside Service will be held to honor Dawn's life on June 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Windsor, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in remembrance of Dawn's charitable nature and her commitment to helping others.
During this time of reflection and remembrance, Deniah Blount wishes to express her profound gratitude to the village of family and friends who have provided unwavering love, prayers, and support. A special thank you is extended to her Godmother, Carolyn Parker, and her God-sister, Ashley Parker, for their constant love, encouragement, and steadfast support during this difficult time. Your kindness and compassion have been a beacon of light and will always be deeply appreciated.
As we mourn the loss of Denita Donyell "Dawn" Blount, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire us all, as we carry her memory in our hearts forever.
