Denise Rose Hallford, a beloved mother, grandmother, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, surrounded by her cherished family and friends. Born on October 17, 1953, in Saline, Kansas, Denise filled the lives of those around her with laughter, warmth, and love.
Denise was the precious daughter of the late Birch and Frances Watson and was also predeceased by her dear brother, Birch Watson. Her legacy lives on through her loving family, including her daughter Shawnette Fowler and husband Doug, her son Cody Hallford and partner Lauren Young, and her life partner of 23 years, Jamie Duke. Denise was the proud Nana to eight grandchildren—Savannah Howard, Drake Howard and partner Tatianna Paul, Maddie Hallford, Caden Martinez, Lexi Hallford, Caleb Hallford, Miley Young, and Miles Corder, great grandchild Oliver, and twin brother Dennis Watson, along with multiple nieces and nephews.
Her career spanned over three decades, as she dedicated more than 30 years to serving Taylor County with loyalty and commitment. Outside of work, Denise took immense joy in exploring garage sales with her friend Mary, always on the lookout for treasures to share with others. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she surrounded herself with many pets throughout her life. Above all, Denise was devoted to her family, making it her life’s mission to show her love and care daily.
Denise was known for her humor, her caring nature, and her ability to bring joy to those around her. Her vibrant spirit and love for family and friends will be profoundly missed.
A celebration of Denise’s life will be held on October 16, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM for visitation and October 17, 2026 at 3:00 PM for funeral services , at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home located at 5701 US -277, Abilene, Texas 79606. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Taylor Jones Humane Society.
