Denise Renee Phillips

Denise Renee Phillips, affectionately known as Renee, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on April 9, 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Mary Ramona Sutton. Renee's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and service, woven through her deep faith, her cherished family, and her vibrant community. Renee spent over five decades by the side of her devoted husband, Ron Phillips, with whom she celebrated 52 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter in Granbury, Texas. She is survived by Ron; her loving son, Jeremy Phillips; her sister, Rhonda Birkner; her brother, Shaun Sutton; and numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. Renee's heart was as expansive as her talents. She was known for her sweet nature, boundless generosity, and infectious sense of humor. Her faith was her guiding light, and she was a fierce prayer warrior who dedicated her life to serving others. As a teenager, she began volunteering with adults with special needs—a testament to her compassionate spirit. Her love for children was evident in the many years she spent teaching Sunday school, nurturing young hearts and minds. A leader in her community, Renee was actively involved in a Christian women's group, offering her wisdom and strength to countless women. She also found joy in her hobbies, which included painting and collecting stuffed animals, dolls, and angels. These interests reflected her gentle and nurturing soul, as well as her appreciation for beauty and innocence. Renee was predeceased by her beloved mother, Ramona Sutton, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms in the Kingdom of Heaven. Her legacy of love and kindness will endure in the hearts of all who knew her. A celebration of Renee's life will be held on August 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Willey Funeral Home, located at 400 Hwy 377 East, Granbury, Texas 76048. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and a spirit that touched so many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Renee's memory to an organization supporting special needs adults or children’s education programs—causes close to her heart. Renee will be deeply missed, but her light will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she loved and who loved her in return. Her unwavering faith, her love for Jesus, and her devotion to her family will forever be her enduring legacy.
