Denise Lynn Steward, lovingly known as "D.D" by her friends and family, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 17, 2026. Born on February 26, 1958, in the vibrant Southside of Columbus, Ohio, Denise lived a life full of joy, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family and friends. God saw that she was tired and gently called her home to rest. Denise was the cherished daughter of John Ranke and Edna Ranke, who predeceased her, along with her beloved sister Arlene Robinson, brothers Gene and Henry, and her beautiful daughter Robin Michelle Steward. Despite these profound losses, Denise's spirit remained resilient and full of warmth, a testament to her enduring strength and love. Denise is survived by her husband, Robert E. Steward, Her love and legacy continue through her "Baby Boy," Robert "Bubba" Steward, and his wife, Jessica Kennedy. She also leaves behind her oldest daughter, Tiffany Monique Ranke, and son-in-law, Rick Tomblin, who were the pride and joy of her life. Denise's heart was made fuller by her five adoring grandchildren: Cierra, Mercedes, Kierra, Lierra, and Neveah, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Heyoka and Laney. Her family was her life, and she relished every moment spent with them, creating cherished memories that will forever be held close. Known for her vibrant personality, Denise was a lover of life who found great joy in simple pleasures. She was a social butterfly who loved to hang out, have a few drinks, and enjoy the company of her friends and family. Her lively spirit was infectious, and she was affectionately dubbed "D.D" by those who knew her from her favorite local spots. An enthusiast of puzzle books, Denise had a love for challenges and a quick wit that endeared her to many. She was a woman of character and integrity, always ready to lend a listening ear or share a story. Her home was filled with laughter and warmth, a sanctuary for her loved ones. Denise's love for her family was evident in every facet of her life. She cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, finding immense joy and fulfillment in nurturing the next generations. Her family gatherings were always lively and filled with love, as Denise ensured everyone felt included and celebrated. Her baby sister, Willetta "Squeak" Marcum, survives her, carrying forward the sisterly bond that was a cornerstone of Denise's life. Their connection was a source of strength and joy, a testament to the unbreakable ties of family. Denise Lynn Steward leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her laughter will echo in the hearts of her loved ones, and her stories will be retold for generations to come.
