It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude that we announce the passing of Dena Kemper, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, who left this world peacefully at her home on March 17, 2026, just shy of her 65th birthday. Born on March 22, 1961, in Cincinnati, Dena graced this world with her vibrant spirit and unwavering strength, a testament to the love and dedication instilled in her by her parents, Betty and Johnny. Dena's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and service. As a dedicated corrections officer for the Hamilton County Police Department, she exemplified integrity and compassion. Her colleagues admired her for her sharp wit and smart approach to her work, which she balanced with a caring heart and a comforting presence. Outside of her career, Dena found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her hands were never idle, often busy with a crochet needle as she created beautiful pieces filled with love and warmth. She was a connoisseur of life’s pleasures, savoring the art of crafting the perfect cocktail, creating delicious meals, and immersing herself in the pages of a good book. But above all, she cherished the moments spent with her cherished grandchildren—Bronson, Harlon, and Callahan—whose laughter brought her immense joy and pride. Dena's adventurous spirit led her to explore new places, and she seized every opportunity to travel, creating memories and stories that she shared with her family and friends. Her sassy humor was the hallmark of her character, endearing her to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Dena is survived by her loving children, Justin, Lyndon, and Amadeace (John), who carry forward her legacy of love, resilience, and humor. Her grandchildren, the light of her life, will forever hold the stories and wisdom she imparted close to their hearts. Her sister, Doretha, and brothers, Darryl, Donald, John, and James, will remember her as a guiding star, whose warmth and strength were constant companions. Though her presence will be deeply missed, Dena's spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and unwavering support. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember Dena as a beacon of hope and joy, whose legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. A private celebration of Dena's life will be held with family and close friends, where stories will be shared, and her favorite cocktails will be raised in her honor. Rest in peace, dear Dena. Your journey was rich and full, and your spirit will forever remain a cherished part of our lives.
