Demetrius Davis
March 1, 1973 — October 2, 2024
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Demetrius Davis, who left this world peacefully on October 2, 2024, with his loved ones by his side. Born on March 1, 1973, in Boston, Massachusetts, Demetrius was a beloved son, husband, father, and friend. His journey through life was marked by a deep commitment to family, community, and the well-being of others.
Demetrius was welcomed into the world by his loving parents, Annette Davis and Kenny Long. He shared a special bond with his mother, Annette, who predeceased him, guiding him with love and wisdom throughout his life. In his formative years, Demetrius attended Mount Liberty All Age School in Jamaica, and as a young man, he emigrated to the United States, seeking better opportunities and a brighter future.
Demetrius dedicated his life to helping others, carving out a distinguished career as a behavior counselor for mental health patients. For over a decade, he served at Arbour Hospital, where his compassion and understanding touched countless lives. His unwavering commitment to his work and the people he served will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In his personal life, Demetrius was a devoted husband to Tremira Jackson, with whom he shared 11 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they nurtured a loving family, including their cherished son, Demetreus Davis. Though Demetrius did not have grandchildren, his legacy will continue through his son and the lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
Demetrius found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the company of friends. He had a particular fondness for playing dominoes, a game that brought laughter and camaraderie to his gatherings.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Demetrius Davis will be held on October 19, 2026, at 5:00 PM at JH House, located at 33 Wildwood St. The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has traveled across states and counties to be with them during this time of loss. Your presence is a testament to the love and impact Demetrius had on so many.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Demetrius's memory to a mental health charity of your choice, honoring his lifelong dedication to supporting those in need.
Demetrius's final wish was that his loved ones come together to laugh, enjoy life, and cherish the memories they shared. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we find comfort in knowing that we will see one another again.
