DeMariae DeVon Smith

October 19, 1991 — April 16, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for the life shared with us, we announce the peaceful passing of DeMariae DeVon Smith on April 16, 2026, at the age of 34. Born on October 18, 1991, in Euless, Texas, DeMariae enriched the lives of those around him with his magnetic smile and infectious humor. DeMariae was the beloved son of Ashaki and Kevin Moore. His journey began in Euless, but his path was one of adventure and growth. As a graduate of Wichita Falls High School in 2010, he pursued further education at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Services from 2018 to 2020, and was in the midst of advancing his knowledge at Fine Mortuary College in 2026. His commitment to his aspirations culminated with the attainment of his Funeral Directing & Embalming License in 2023, which led to the founding of Smith & Whitmore Funeral Home. In his professional life, DeMariae demonstrated a remarkable work ethic and a heart full of compassion. He spent two years contributing his skills at General Motors Company as an assembly worker before taking on a leadership role at Canadian Solar, where he was admired for his mentorship and guidance of younger employees. DeMariae's life was one of service and dedication, not only in his professional endeavors but also in his community. A devout member of First Baptist Church for over a decade, he shared his faith and love generously. His commitment to service extended to the Rotary Club, where he proudly served as president in 2022, and to his brave volunteer work as a firefighter for eight years. DeMariae's legacy is carried on by those who survive him: his devoted parents, Ashaki and Kevin Moore; his cherished sisters, Kiara Moore of Arlington, Texas, and Jamaica Moore of Fort Worth, Texas; his loving grandmother, Sandra Bedford of Hayward, California; his supportive uncle, Larry Smith of Houston, Texas; and a host of adoring nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Though preceded in death by his grandparents Nola and Jim Smith, aunts Betty Adams and Willie Mae Kirby, uncle Paul Smith, and cousin Jimmy Smith, the memory of their love lingered in his heart. Known for his quick wit and warm smile, DeMariae had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. A service to honor and celebrate DeMariae's life will take place at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, located at 1800 Wise Rd, Arlington, Texas. For those unable to attend, a livestream will be available at www.facebook.com/DeeSmithLive. In this time of sadness, we find comfort in the words shared by the family: "God Saw You. God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be; so he put his arms around you, and whispered, come to me. With tearful eyes, we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, he only takes the best." May DeMariae’s soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love he so generously shared with the world.
