Born on October 4, 1948, in Gary, Indiana, Delphine was the daughter of Amparo Cuevas, whose voice filled their home with music, and Francisco Cortez, a devoted animal lover who personified kindness. Delphine’s journey into music began serendipitously at the age of 20 when a manager, captivated by her voice as she sang to herself at a restaurant, ushered her onto the stage. Her musical career blossomed in the vibrant jazz scenes of Chicago and Las Vegas, eventually leading her to Phoenix, where her talent shone brightly at esteemed venues, resorts, and festivals. Her performances were experiences that captivated audiences with her larger-than-life angelic voice and her natural grace. In September 1996, Delphine married her soulmate and musical partner, Joel Robin Goldenthal. Their union was a beautiful harmony of love and music, with Joel adoring Delphine beyond measure. Together, they created a life filled with melody, affection, and joy. Delphine was a graduate of Emerson High School and had a profound love for all creatures of the Earth. Her fondness for dolphins, which she affectionately called "her babies," and her pets, whom she regarded as her children, reflected her deep compassion and gentle spirit.
