Delorus Pearce

January 4, 1936 — August 10, 2026

Delorus "Dee" Pearce, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched many lives, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in her Spring, Texas home on August 10, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on January 4, 1936, in Boston, Massachusetts, Delorus was the daughter of Delno and Diana Hoffner. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Ida, Del, and Danny, and her dear daughter Cheryl "Cheri" Lynn Pearce. Delorus's journey was one filled with love and dedication. On April 1956, she married the love of her life, Albert, with whom she shared 71 beautiful years. Together, they raised five wonderful children: Albert Guy, who lovingly shares his life with Lori; Robin, who found companionship and joy with Jim; John; and Brooke. Her family flourished, expanding to include nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom received her boundless love and nurturing spirit. Delorus devoted her life to creating a home that was a sanctuary not only for her family but also for over 50 foster children over three decades. With an open heart, she provided a loving and safe haven, especially for children with special needs, guiding them through their challenges with patience and compassion. Her calling was to ensure each child felt loved, supported, and prepared to face the world with confidence. Known for her radiant smile and infectious laughter, Delorus brought joy through simple pleasures. She had a talent for drawing and loved to sing old songs that filled the home with nostalgia and warmth. Her culinary skills were legendary within her family, particularly her Sunday roast beef and gravy, a meal eagerly anticipated by Albert after his long weeks on the road. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated hospice workers who provided comfort and smiles during Delorus's final days. Their compassion helped ease the family's long goodbye and ensured Delorus's days were filled with peace. As we remember Delorus, we celebrate a life that was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to family and community. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
