Deloria Turner

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Deloria Turner on August 21, 2026. She left this world peacefully after a courageous battle with illness, enveloped in the love of her family. Deloria was born on October 1, 1942, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Doris Johnson, and was the cherished sister of the late Ephraim Johnson. Deloria’s life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Her journey began in Kingston, where she developed a deep love for her community and an enduring commitment to helping others. She pursued her education with determination and graduated with a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license, which led her to a fulfilling career in the hospital setting. Her dedication and compassion were deeply felt by her colleagues and patients alike. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church, Deloria’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found joy in reading her Bible and books, and she delighted in the simple pleasure of listening to food channels. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate circle, as she actively supported several orphanages and facilities dedicated to caring for the disadvantaged. Deloria's giving nature and selflessness left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Deloria was the beloved wife of Mr. Turner and a devoted mother to her children: Wayne Dean Martin, Janet Elizabeth Lennox, Errol Heron, Barrington V. Bowen, Michelle Annmarie Anderson, and Mark Bowen. Her legacy continues through her 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. Her love and wisdom will remain in their hearts forever. A service to celebrate Deloria’s life will be held on September 11, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her brother Ephraim, and resting in the arms of the Lord. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to local churches, reflecting Deloria’s enduring faith and commitment to community service. The Turner family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the devoted staff who cared for Deloria during her illness. Your compassion and support have been a source of strength during this difficult time.
