March 16, 1944 — March 7, 2026

In loving memory of Delores Lucas, whose vibrant spirit and compassionate heart touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Delores passed away peacefully on the afternoon of March 7, 2026, just shy of her 82nd birthday, surrounded by her beloved family and enveloped in the soothing melodies of her favorite hymns—a fitting farewell for a soul so deeply devoted to her faith and family. Delores was born on March 16, 1944, in Richmond, California, to Ernest Straw and Nellie Dishong. She was the embodiment of grace and resilience, traits that she carried throughout her life, and which were deeply ingrained in her by her loving parents, who predeceased her, along with her cherished sister, Ernestine. Delores' legacy is lovingly carried forward by her surviving sister, Sandra, and her four children: Gina, Tami, Robert, and Dee Dee. Her family was her pride and joy, and she delighted in the laughter and love of her 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness and cherished memories. For over two decades, Delores dedicated herself to her work as an environmental service technician at Kaiser. Her career was a testament to her diligent work ethic and unwavering commitment. After an injury, Delores embraced her role as a homemaker with the same dedication, becoming the heart and soul of her family home. A devout member of the Antioch Calvary Chapel, Delores found great fulfillment in her faith and was a regular participant in the church's weekly Bible studies. Her spiritual journey was a guiding light for her, and she lived her life with a heart of gold, always striving to follow the teachings of the Lord. Delores had a zest for life that was reflected in her many interests and hobbies. She adored the opera, relished in retail therapy, and was an avid moviegoer—always eager to catch the latest cinematic offerings. Her love for adventure took her on numerous travels and unforgettable cruises, where she reveled in the beauty of the world around her. Known for her fiery red hair and striking blue-green eyes, Delores was as beautiful on the outside as she was within. Her love for singing and dancing was infectious, and her joyful spirit could light up any room. Her kindness, compassion, and selfless nature made her a cherished friend and confidante to many. A service to celebrate Delores Lucas' remarkable life will be held on her birthday, March 16, 2026, allowing family and friends to honor her legacy and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we take comfort in knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly through the lives of those she loved and who loved her in return. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to her cherished church, Antioch Calvary Chapel, in memory of Delores and her unwavering devotion to her faith and community. May Delores rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever dancing among the stars.
