March 24, 1956 — June 5, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Delores Lee Schexnider, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Delores peacefully departed this world on June 5, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on March 24, 1956, in Poplarville, Mississippi, Delores led a life enriched by love, family, and the simple joys of nature.
Delores was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Geneva Lee, whose love and guidance she carried forward throughout her life. Her parents preceded her in death, and now she joins them in eternal rest.
A loving wife, Delores entered into a beautiful union with Adrian Schexnider on December 11, 1972. Together, they shared more than 54 wonderful years filled with laughter, love, and unwavering companionship. Adrian was not only her spouse but her steadfast partner through life's journey.
Delores was a devoted mother to her two sons, Jay and Lorin Schexnider. She welcomed her daughters-in-law, Laurie and Monica, with open arms, embracing them as her own. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Jace and Khristian, who were the apples of her eye. Jace's wife, Ashley, became another beloved member of Delores's ever-growing family. Additionally, she found joy in the lives of her four step-grandchildren, Davin, Destin, Holly, and Allie Rose, whom she adored.
Family was the cornerstone of Delores's life. She shared a deep bond with her five brothers, Bobby (Sara Milner), Robert (Cindy Lee), Doug (Judy Lee), Keith (Kelly Lee), and Joe (Tammy Lee), as well as her three sisters, Terri (Charles Toney), Alice (Dale Garner), and Ann (Charlie Summers). Her heart was further warmed by her numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom she held close. Delores also shared a sisterly bond with her dear friend, Tracy R. Schexnider, whom she loved as a sister by heart.
Delores found peace and happiness in her vegetable garden, where she spent many serene hours nurturing her plants and delighting in the fruits of her labor. Her love for crocheting was another cherished pastime, as she crafted beautiful pieces that warmed both body and soul.
A service to celebrate the life of Delores Lee Schexnider will be held at Crain Funeral Home, located in Franklinton, Louisiana. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a woman who touched so many lives with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.
In this time of mourning, we find solace in the legacy of love and resilience Delores leaves behind. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light for those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the memories of a life well-lived and the enduring love of her family.
